P-518 X-Ray Wharf Improvements

Healy Tibbitts Builders, Inc. along with Joint venture partners, Watts Constructors LLC and Obayashi Corporation successfully completed the Navy’s $49 million P-518 X-Ray Wharf Improvements, Berth 1, Naval Base, Guam project in October 2017. The Design-Build/Design-Bid Build project upgraded the existing wharf for the Navy’s T-AKE supply vessels. The scope of work included a new sheet pile wall, new tie-rod and waler system, engineered backfill, Cement Deep Soil Mixing, concrete pile cap, mooring dolphin, dredging of berth and approach channel, reconfiguration and installation of 4 each mooring buoys, a Bilge Oily Waste treatment facility, and a generator building.

The project was honored with the Best New Federal and Heavy Project Award at the 2018 AGC Build America Awards.
