Hawaii Super Ferry

Healy Tibbitts Builders, Inc. successfully completed the $38 million Design-Build Barges and Vehicle Ramp Systems for Inter-Island Ferry Service contract for the State of Hawaii DOT Harbors Division. This modem port project provides safe links between the State piers and ferry vessels to enable the discharge and loading of motor vehicles. Work included designing and constructing three ocean going barges and four sets of state-of-the-art vehicle ramps, and installing this equipment at Honululu, Kahului, Nawiliwili and Kawaihae harbors. Healy’s partnering efforts with the State and the ferry operator along with its outstanding execution of work have resulted in first class ferry terminal facilities throughout Hawaii.

This project was awarded the GCA of Hawaii’s 2008 Build Hawaii Awards of Excellence.
